SF Beer Week 2016 is in full-swing! What better way to start off a new year than a nine day festival of events dedicated to our favorite beverage? This year marks the 8th annual SF Beer Week which is hosted by the San Francisco Brewers Guild. SF Beer Week 2016 runs from January 22 thru 31 and features more than 800 beer events all over the Bay Area. Tap takeovers, beer and food pairings, homebrew education, beer trivia and outdoor movies are just a few examples of the types of events you can expect at this year’s SF Beer Week.
Kicking-off SF Beer Week on January 22nd was the Opening Gala at Pier 35 in San Francisco. Attendees had access to unlimited tastings from over 100 local breweries as well as delicious Northern California cuisine. It is no surprise that this event sells out every year, so once tickets become available for the Opening Gala of Beer Week 2017 be sure to pick yours up early! If you weren’t able to be at the Opening Gala don’t worry, there are hundreds of other beer-centered events all over the Bay for you to choose from. With so many events going on how are we supposed to choose which ones to attend? Good news! The SF Beer Week website has a fantastic schedule of events posted which can be sorted by region, date and event type so you can find exactly what you’re looking for. Also featured on the SF Beer Week website is a lists tab which features the hand-picked itineraries of local beer experts, taking the guesswork out of what to do with your week.
The North Bay Brewery Tours crew was at BeerCraft in Rohnert Park on Thursday evening to celebrate their tap takeover featuring fantastic beers from Tired Hands Brewing, Cellarmaker Brewing, Sante Adairius, and The Rare Barrel. Their spacious taproom was packed with thirsty beer-lovers as was their back parking lot despite the rain. As per police regulations, the back lot was to be “fenced” so we got creative and used five North Bay Brewery Tour buses as a makeshift wall!
No matter if you’re new to the craft beer scene or a Bay Area beer aficionado there is something for you to enjoy at SF Beer Week 2016. Check out their website, choose some events and get out there to enjoy some fantastic brews!
